My name is Cresanda Allen. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. My love for science & environmental stewardship blossomed 12 years ago during my college years. After graduating college with a BA in Environmental Studies, I began a teaching career as an Outdoor Education Instructor. Currently, I hold a Generalist EC-6 and a Science 4-8 teaching certificate and have 8 years of experience. I seek to provide learning endeavors that enable children to remember who they are, to create who they will be. I am also an advocate for Texas native plants, and have obtained a Native Landscape Design Certificate from the Native Plant Society of Texas.
As a lifelong learner, I have decided to pursue a MS in Agricultural Science at Texas A&M University--Commerce. My mother Roesanda Allen, also a teacher, and I give free garden classes at the McCarty & Maathai Community Garden in South Oak Cliff--Oak Cliff Gardens neighborhood.
